PM Surya Ghar Scheme

The Government of India has approved the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG:MBY) on 29thFebruary, 2024 to increase the share of solar rooftop capacity and empower residential households to generate their own electricity.
  • Residential consumers across India can apply under this scheme.
  • The subsidy structure of the scheme is as below : Rs. 30,000/- per kW up to 2 kW Rs. 78,000/- for capacities 3 kW and above.
  • The applicant can register themselves through “PM-suryaghar portal” (www. pmsuryaghar.gov.in)
  • Volunteers can also mobilize this scheme for consumers to register under this scheme.
  • After completion of installation, the subsidy amount is directly credited into the bank account of the consumers within 7 days to 30 days.
  • Nationalized Banks tied up with this scheme to provide loans to consumers at the rate of 6%.
  • As 1 kw solar panel generates 4 to 5 units per day approximately, the investment made by the consumers can be retrieved within short span of years.
  • Applications registered in this portal will be redirected to TNPDCL online portal for further processing.
  • GHS/RWA consumers also apply through online mode.
  • Auto feasibility approval up to solar capacity of 10 kW.
  • Auto load enhancement up to 10 kW.
  • Applicable Charges included in the next assessment cycle.
  • Net metering GISS Agreement between licensee and consumer digitized.
